Joined the band on a week-long trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan where I participated in there leadership curriculum. I learned about mutual aid, ableism, equality, power structures, global intelligence (GQ) and inclusivity. I worked through the curriculum with a neuro-diverse group of people and explored how we can all regardless of disability help each other move through life.

Throughout this 450 hour internship, my main responsibilities included assisting adults with developmental, emotional or physical disabilities in social group programming, entering scheduling and client information into an online database, assisting the organization in risk management and assisting with health and safety reporting.

• Assisted in programing of Bloom Trauma informed yoga for children and youth • Assisted in creating curriculum for children and adolescent classes at the boys and girls club. • Co-facilitated yoga classes for children to teach about socio-emotional learning. • Did phone intakes for the office and referred clients to appropriate services when Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center could not be of assistance. • Shadowed yoga instructor teaching yoga classes to parents and children doing supervised visitation.

At the RIse School of Denver, my duties are to take care of and engage children that range in age from 12 months to five years old. I lead circles that include activities that help children with speech and mobility development. I make sure all hygienic needs are met and that children remain happy, healthy and safe with proper supervision at all times. It is also my responsibility at this job to administer any medication that a child shall need throughout my time working with them.

At the Easter Seals Camp, my job was to make sure that children and adolescents age six to twenty-one were always engaged in developmentally appropriate activities. This sometimes meant planning and conducting activities. I was also in charge of making sure that all campers hygienic needs were met.
