About Morgan Hendricks, Mph
I'm a recent graduate from University of San Francisco's Masters in Public Health (MPH) program, with a concentration in Behavioral Health. I have a background in qualitative research, case management for people with substance use disorder, and environmental health and land stewardship. I can offer a unique framework to research by taking a public health approach and having deep consideration of how our systems impacts social determinants of health for people from different communities. Throughout my education and work experience, my passion for health and equity has informed the way I practice research and health education, and I'm particularly interested in participatory action research. Within my MPH program and work experience I’ve received immense training in study design, research methodology, data analysis, and health education and promotion. I've collaborated with beautifully diverse people on teams for many different projects, where interpersonal communication and leadership were necessities. I worked with one team to create and facilitate an alcohol safety workshop for undergraduate students, provided 1:1 counseling, and am using this health education experience to further my knowledge as a Certified Health Education Specialist. In my APEX research position with Marin County Health & Human Services, I assisted with a study on barriers to housing and treatment for the unhoused populations. I conducted a needs assessment, literature review, and developed a workshop to address barriers to accessing cellular communication. Additionally, I wrote a grant to fund a peer support program that was built from the ground up by and for those experiencing homelessness and substance abuse. My approach to team work is highly collaborative and I believe everyone on a team deserves space to express their unique perspectives and ideas, and leverage them all to accomplish the goal.Excited to connect!
