❑ Treated adults with swallowing, language, and cognition disorders on ICU, inpatient, and emergency departments.❑ Administered and analyzed assessments to create comprehensive reports and treatment plans, including WAB-bedside, SLUMS, Clinical Swallow Evaluation, FEES, and VFSS.❑ Gathered case history based on a comprehensive review of medical/clinical records, as well as interviews with caregivers and other health care professionals.❑ Completed an oral mechanism exam, consisting of analyzing and assessing the function and structure of facial features and the oral cavity. ❑ Facilitated an ethnographic interview with the client, family members, and caregivers by utilizing descriptive and structural questions in order to gather information about the client’s goals and perspective.❑ Applied critical thinking skills to determine medical stability and clinical presentation of swallowing to determine course of action during assessment as well as further intervention/assessment.❑ Communicated client progress and assessment analyses through written or verbal communication with members of the medical team, caregivers, and family members.❑ Furthered professional knowledge by participating in monthly journal club discussing recent research and presentations from colleagues and other professionals.❑ Researched information to provide CEU presentation on the Speech Pathologists Role in Counseling in the Acute Care Setting to colleagues.
