About Morgan Schweitzer

Morgan Schweitzer is a Consultant at The MIL Corporation. Colleagues describe them as "I have had the pleasure of working alongside Morgan on the Conference Staff for the Minis 2014 NEACURH Conference and with the Resident Student Association (RSA). From my experience with her, it is obvious that she is a natural leader. As a first-year student, she was thrown into the most important position in RSA - the National Communications Coordinator (NCC) position. Furthermore, she had no transitioning into the position, but rather learned through experience. She quickly became a very effective NCC and even compiled a team to bid for hosting the Minis 2014 Conference. With only two months to find a team, work out all of the logistics behind hosting a conference with a $70,000 budget, and prepare a 30-page bid, professional Residence Life staff told Morgan that she could not pull it off. Two months later, the team was at the University of Pittsburgh, pitching their conference to a room full of NCCs throughout the Northeast region. I was fortunate enough to be a member of this team, and after outbidding New York University for the conference Morgan was already thinking about the next steps. In planning this conference, Morgan proved to have incredible foresight. She is extremely detail-oriented, seeing both far in time and small in scale. She was also able to demonstrate this while working on another project alongside the regional conference. While organizing the bid, Morgan was also helping her residence hall’s RSA council break a world record – building the largest fort constructed entirely out of cardboard boxes. This may not sound like a logistical nightmare, but storing thousands of folded cardboard boxes while abiding by fire safety code, sorting good cardboard from bad cardboard, and contacting various cardboard-producing facilities on campus takes time, team coordination, and efficiency in working a campus-wide faculty and student network. Under Morgan’s logistical leadership, her and her fellow first-year RSA classmates built the world’s largest cardboard box fort and proved that she was capable of organizing large-scale programs. 11 months later, Rensselaer hosted the 2014 regional NEACURH conference, only 13 months after being told by professional staff that it was impossible, while pledging a sorority and helping coordinate the fort project. With two more years left before her undergraduate career comes to a close, she has displayed an incredible potential to do even greater things for the organizations in which she is involved. Morgan has gained so much respect from her peers for her passion, her ability to dream big, and her belief in her peers to reach her dreams with her. Personally, I have learned a great deal about how to effectively coordinate a group in order to get the most out of everybody involved. Perhaps more importantly, I have learned that adversity is simply an enabler of greatness. Nothing has proven this more than what Morgan has been able to accomplish in her short – yet vast – collegiate experience." and "Morgan quite frankly scares me in how driven and motivated she is but in a good way. I am glad Morgan and I are not competing in the same job category. Morgan was told she was only a sophomore and it would be hard to host a conference, but she chose to prove everyone wrong. She proved everyone wrong and continues to impress me day after day in her organization and conference preparations. Working with Morgan has been amazing and she constantly ask what she can do to make my life easier no matter how busy she is. She is a great leader, and has made my job a lot easier. There is no doubt in my mind that Morgan will host an amazing conference and go on to do many amazing things."
