In the RBS Manager role I lead three company wide strategic initiative projects, two on the Process and Motion Control side of the business and one on the Water Management side of the business to implement the 8020 principal. While in this role I worked with Rexnord’s leadership team to drive 8020 sales and business changes and the 8020 mindset, developed standard work around 8020, facilitated 8020 events and weekly team meetings, managed the daily visual management boards, action plans and bowlers.

In the Rexnord Technical Excellence Program I had the opportunity to rotate through three different areas of the business; Rexnord Industrial Chain, Rexnord Innovation Center, and Rexnord Falk. While in the rotational program I completed a $150k cost saving project, implemented a universal 5S+ audit program, updated the Product Development Process to incorporate the commercial marketing team, implemented a semi automated process to track metrics on the Product Development process, taught transactional lean courses, mentored six associates through Six Sigma Yellow belt projects, and implemented Kanban and single piece flow for a production cell. I was hired out of the project a rotation early to lead a large company wide strategic initiative.

At Rockwell Automation I worked in Architecture and Software in the Motion Control Business as a Lean Intern. As a Lean Intern I got to help lead and assist multiple projects. My favorite project of the summer was getting to help with 2016 Strategic Deployment planning. On the team I helped develop a process for choosing annual improvement projects. I also got to help plan the offsite four day Strategic Deployment conference. While at the conference I facilitated multiple groups in different functional areas of the business to help prioritize the strategic initiatives for 2016.

While at MillerCoors I was on the Customer Supply Chain Material Planning team. During my internship I worked on a project to build a report to assist the commodity leads to manage their commodities by exception. The reports were created by programming in Business Objects to combine the Miller legacy data and Coors legacy data. The report showed days of inventory for the can commodities and can ends commodities, a second report was for the fiber commodity to also show days inventory. After the days of inventory reports were built, I created a step by step Visual Work Instructions so that the team could easily follow how to get the information out of the reports.

At PFERD I worked on multiple tasks for the manufacturing facility. I created work instructions on how to run various machines, implemented visual management, implemented ergonomic bins to hold parts to allow for natural posture, and reduce twisting and bending every 2 minutes. My last project of the summer was to reduce machine downtime, I improved the design of the rack so that the downtime was minimized by 64%. The following summer I worked on a 3 month long project with the Research and Development team to find a way to limit defects on composite brushes. On this team I came up with a standardized procedure that could result in a brush with no defects in the plastic.
