Post-conviction work in cases involving the death penalty and juveniles sentenced to life without parole.

Coordinated M&A transaction. Drafted and implemented limitations and delegations of authority. Updated the Code of conduct for prevention of insider dealing to ensure compliance with the new EU Market Abuse Regulation. Revised the Ethics Charter. Managed the buyout of minority shareholders. Updated the Shareholders Agreement. Revised the Rules of Procedures for the Board of Directors. Drafted an internal procedure re. the form and content of “insider lists” to ensure consistency with the new EU Market Abuse Regulation requirements.

Advised and represented corporations and executives charged with insider trading, international tax fraud, money laundering, corruption, embezzlement, misuse of company assets, dissemination of false information, involuntary manslaughter, and defamation. Prepared motions, legal briefs and appeared before first instance courts and courts of appeal. Delivered presentations to clients’ legal teams on criminal law and procedure. Drafted memoranda on U.K. Bribery Act and U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in connection with firm’s London and New York offices. Conducted anti-corruption due diligence in cross-border acquisition. Coordinated legal teams from several countries dedicated to corruption risk assessment. Researched and drafted memoranda on Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty in criminal matters between France and the United States.

Represented, as public defender, juvenile and adult clients charged with domestic violence, assault,sexual assault, drug related offenses, and theft. Assisted clients in police custody. Represented anassociation of victims in criminal proceedings related to the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

Advised and represented corporations in major criminal and civil proceedings including the sinking ofthe oil tanker Erika, the blast at the AZF chemical plant, and the Concorde crash. Advised a helicopter engine manufacturer during a criminal trial in Italy in connection with a helicopter accident. Represented an automotive supplier in asbestos litigation.

Represented clients in criminal proceedings before French courts. Conducted legal research on issues of criminal law, and drafted briefs and written submissions to the courts. Visited clients in prison to discuss the merits of their case and prepare their trial strategy.
