Planning and designing new MS SQL server infrastructure for Danish military

Providing technical assistants to costumers.Customer cases: 1.This customer had problems with the BI system, ETL jobs toke 26 hours to complete and sometimes they broke.They invested in a new SAN with a big cache card controller attached.I did initial tests on the cache card, came up with specific design for MS SQL based on data collected with sqliosim. Together with the BI team at the costumer, I rewrote some of the ETL jobs to match current SQL level. Time went from 26 hours to 6 hours and 25 mins. 2.They approached me with at suspicion that they might be under licensed.Using MS assessment Toolkit, I ran a scan of the running infrastructure and based on these reports came up with a new design for consolidation the infrastructure, based on MS SQL Server 2012 with AlwaysON.Cost savings was over one mil. dkr.

Designed an MS SQL infrastructure for 24/7 uptime.Solution was accomplish with SQL express as satellite servers with replication for offloading the primary SQL server and making two MS SQL cluster.A front-end and back-end cluster. Both on MS SQL 2008 R2.Dealing with over 120 million of rows of data a day and a 480+ GB Database.

Atea a/s, DenmarkDesigned and implemented MS SQL Cluster for e-Commerce site.Became the bridge between development and IT department.Worked closely together with the Navision team and made sure that the company's 1600 employees could work on one system.Designed a MS SQL 2008 Cluster on HP Superdome for the company's IT infrastructure.Consolidated from 16 SQL servers to four, including migrations from MS SQL 2000.Implemented new backup plan for the whole SQL Server environment. Thereby truncating the backup size from 16.7 Tb to 2.9 Tb.

Projected hired to convert the company's old MS SQL 2000 and web server code in ASP, to MS SQL 2005 and ASP .NetDesigned and implemented a new backup and recovery strategy for the MS SQL server, based on Database mirroring.Got the whole IT infrastructure outsourced to big Hosting center in Denmark.

Consulting on Microsoft technology and DoubleClick AdServer products.Had a hotel chain of 4 hotels within the greater Copenhagen.Made a network design for all these hotels to be connected together via VPN, for centralized ERP system.

Designed, coded and maintained, Lycos Europe Adserver Reporting system (LEAR)This system was design to give a great flexibility to the company's sales force, in terms of reporting on the paid advertising.Designed a big data warehouse for ad hoc reporting and analysis.The Front-end was coded in ASP and Excel with online analytical processing (OLAP).Gave training courses for sellers and Adserver controllers from all over Lycos Europe.

Worked as administrator for Jubii a/s AdServer,The online advertising system.Worked on everything, from assembling servers to set up the software and tweak it.
