You know Training is a crucial part of development of your employees to maximise you Production and safety but to be a good trainer the most important thing is people skills you have to make you trainee feel comfortable and at ease if you don't he or she will feel nervous and make mistakes I went to train one African driller he was a driller of 20 years experience but it was in exploration and he was drilling now blasthole drilling and was having massive problems drilling interface holes and broken ground as he didn't know how to collar a hole he would come to work and if the national supervisor put him on drilling the interface hole he would cringe and panic he said I'm going to have a bad day boss I said why and he said to me I'm drilling the interface holes he said with a worried look on his face I said no you going to have a great day because I'm going to stay with you all day to show you how to drill that broken ground and his face lit up like a diamond over the course of the day he learnt how to drill broken ground and collar the hole and now if he asked to drill the interface he trams the drill straight up to the interface with a smile on his face and I asked him after training how do you feel about drilling the interface now Patrick he said boss just the same as drilling any other hole
