Research Intern In Superconductivity | Quantum Circuits Group
The Néel Institute, established by the Nobel in Physics laureate of the same name, offers to interns an active member role in an internationally recognised research group, where they develop advanced skills and methodology in the area of condensed matter Physics by facing current challenges of the domain field.Team Joined: Quantum Circuits.Title: Quantum correlations in Josephson bi-Junctions.Context: Superconductors are the cornerstone for Quantum computing, especially Josephson junctions: the basic building blocks of quantum computers. Such a junction has a strong potential for entanglement applications but suffers of detrimental noise (decoherence) introduced by the driving parameter: the voltage bias. However, an in-house recent experimentation on junction with multi-terminals showed an unexpected super-current between all the reservoirs.Goal: Answer to the physical question "Does the super-current between all the three terminals of a Josephson bi-junction is noisy ?"Achievements:•Build a realistic model that phenomenologically transcripts the physical conditions of a non-equilibrium transport experiment.•Resolve analytically the current and its crossed correlations in a Josephson bi-junction with statistical quantum physics tools: Green Functions in the Keldysh Formalism.•Develop from scratch Python/C++ programs to calculate on a supercomputer the currents between the three-terminals of the junction & their associated noise.
