Employees often feel that their interests are not best served by HR. I developed and launch a citywide online course for HR professionals and people managers with an employee interdepartmental group. It dives deeply into a human-centered approach to HR policies, compliance, and procedures by establishing an anti-racist and trauma-informed framework and tools. Show less

I implemented a framework and accountability measures to reimagine this system so that it listens and responds to the expertise and needs of Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latinx families, children, and providers. To support this work, I led racial equity and social justice training and discussions. I coached and advised project leads on equity principles as they related to their respective scopes of work. I reviewed the strategic plan and proposal for value alignment and to flag areas where we were building in, replicating, or worsening barriers for children, families, providers, and staff.Project: Language Premium for Bilingual StaffAs a result of observed and experienced inequities in our translation process, I initiated translation team meetings with multilingual staff, formed language-specific peer mentoring teams across the center, and started several external partnership meetings to co-create a process and draft protocols that respect and value our multilingual staff. Project: Diversity, Belonging & Equity InitiativeSeeing the inequities baked into our data collection process, I engaged our leaders and staff in designing thoughtful stakeholder engagement processes to ensure our systems were not creating or exacerbating existing barriers to quality trauma-informed and culturally responsive early childhood education.
