I recently transitioned to backend engineering, working extensively with Kotlin and Spring to develop microservices for the Payments team. So far, I've enhanced our REST services with key features like idempotency, improving the reliability of transactions and requests. Designed and added new tables, performed administrative tasks, and optimized performance on our Postgres databases. And used AWS and Terraform to update and manage our infrastructure.Before this I worked as a Senior iOS Engineer on our Mobility Inside project. Here I used Swift and MapKit to display rental vehicle and station locations. Implemented features such as vehicle details and rental information display, service area polygons, and advanced map filtering through pinch/zoom interactions for map annotations.And in my first role, I worked as an iOS engineer to develop and maintain user-centric features for our Mobility-as-a-Service platform, focusing on authentication, user profile, and payment method management. I worked closely with cross-functional teams to refactor and optimize code, adopting Combine to modernize concurrency patterns and enhance performance. And collaborated with dependent teams to re-architect public interfaces, making them more intuitive and developer-friendly, resulting in better integration with client teams.

I served as the lead iOS developer for the Duke Energy mobile app. Built in Swift, our team successfully scaled out to our customer base numbering in the millions, offering features such as one-time and recurring bill payment, service outage reporting, energy usage graphs, and a scrollable feed using custom card-based UI with offers from our corporate partners.My major contributions included designing product solutions, mobile architecture, security, developer mentoring and code reviews, and development of our iOS practice.Prior to working as an iOS lead, I worked as an iOS engineer on several areas of the Duke Energy app as well as on product teams across our Work Experience platforms for internal colleagues.I worked on application design and development on a mobile app for our Environmental Health and Safety team which provided customizable form-field UI by parsing JSON into custom UI components described by the JSON model. This allowed colleagues to design their own forms via a web interface. The app connected to an API to serve the form and CoreData to allow for offline saving. The app detected network connectivity and offered a sync function to sync the form state to the API.

As the mobile developer, I re-wrote and launched a 2.0 native version of the mobile app for Android and iOS. The Android app was written using Java and Android Studio, and the iOS app in Swift 2.2 (later migrated to 3.0) and Xcode. Work on these apps included consuming REST APIs, building a custom interactive calendar and customizable form-field UI. The apps synchronized appointments for our users which their customers booked with them via their own customizable web-based booking system provided by our company, and added them to their personal calendar in the app. Users could also block availability on their calendars, which would then sync to their booking system.I also worked on backend features such as a data importer/exporter which allowed customers to import or export contact lists. This used a Java library and Postgres. Additionally I provided technical onboarding to customers using our endpoints and wrote technical documentation.

Primary work consisted of building a mobile app which featured a bulk material calculator for landscapers and home gardeners.My team and I used a cross-platform development tool to build a re-usable framework that we deployed to our apps for Android and iOS. We then built the respective user-interfaces for each platform and launched both apps within weeks of each other.
