I started 2024 with the ambitious idea of starting a new journey after 15 years on the education sector, and Mimacom was my choice. I wanted to get experience from other markets, and use the technology in a different way, meet new professionals and face new challenges.

I've always adopted many open source products and technologies and I usually stay tuned in those communities. I'm member of the Sakai community since 2008 and I'm part of the Sakai LMS project management council since 2017. I'm also serving the community as the Security and I18N chair.

EDF is one of the best things I've ever done in my entire life, I can't be more grateful and proud of the work we did and the team we built. I had the opportunity of working for top tier institutions in the education market, going to the next level in terms of quality and challenges.When I joined EDF the company had success in the past with homegrown systems and was well established, I had the tough mission of renewing the technology stack and products to an open source alternative. I still remember when we were just two people and the team grew up to the solid team we have nowadays, consequence of the hard work, challenges, talent, passion and constant dedication. Unluckily we needed to move to a bigger office three times in 8 years!Since 2014 I worked for more than thirty top tier education institutions all around the world, providing hosting for institutions, software development, customizations, integrations, support, training, consultancy and more services, leading to exciting projects and initiatives.

Here is where I transitioned my career from private homegrown platforms to the open source world. I joined this company as a Java software developer to create the first pure online university in Spain, and ended leading an exciting group of young, very talented and passionated people.During 5 years I had the exciting oportunity to adopt a software, deploy it, adapt it to our clients' needs, translate it, customize every part of it, create an enormous set of tools, travel to events from the sector, collaborate with many institutions and learn a lot of good practices from members all around the world. I grew up a lot building a good team of talented people and contributed back with what I've learnt.

I worked on the new user experience and many new features for the the first Spanish LMS, a homegrown LMS platform called QStutor based in Coldfusion. I also provided support to instructors and administrators about the software.

I worked for Iberdrola in Valencia and Madrid as an analyst and developer, creating a software platform to infer nuclear reactor situations based on data and metrics.
