- Analyze profitability of products produced by applying a 360 view methodology. This entails analysis of an extensive list of profitability catalogues including production volumes, production cost, maintenance cost, product pricing and OTD. Root causes to poor product profitability are identified and corrective actions implemented. Actions to root causes may include short-term Business Improvement projects/tasks, to long-term CAPEX projects.- Leading AMSA's Decarbonization Initiatives from Commercial side- Responsible for various Product and Market Development tasks for Flat Steel Products

Working at Coke and Chemicals (Petrochemical) plant after successfully completing my candidacy training. Tasks involve RCA investigations, involvement in distillation column inspections during shutdowns and daily monitoring of plant key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintenance issues. Projects include (a) installation of valves to reduce consumption of steam on the oil products' steam heated tanks (CAPEX project) and (b) Optimising the plants' existing heat exchangers/steam generators recycle system to ensure maximum recycled steam within the plant and reduced make-up steam from the boiler house (save steam cost). Investigative projects include researching and testing the feasibility of blending mixed oil in crude tar to increase raw material stocks and to characterise unknown mixed oil composition.

In process of completing my Candidacy Programme at AMSA, in line with ECSA outcomes for Candidate Chemical Engineers. Working towards qualifying as Professional Engineer. Exposure in Project Management, Capital Investment Project Management method prescribed by AMSA. Experience in SAP, SMART and ASPEN. Projects included application of basic Chemeng principles such as Mass and Energy balances. Completed design and installation of chemical dosing (pumps) system. Completed a number of Root Cause Analyses (RCA's) and implemented corrective and preventative actions. Experience with contractors and contractor management, initiating tasks and ensuring safe working conditions for contractors. Previously focused on Steam and Power Generation plants and later moved to the Water utilities section as of January 2018. There, focused on improving process water mass balance in order to comply with process water disposal regulations and ensure zero effluent discharge to the environment.

Completed first vacation work at the Cold Mills South Plant (CMS) at the Vanderbijlpark Works. Did project on alternative solvent cleaners and provided potential replacements for the currently used solvent cleaner. Did study of the whole process at CMS.
