Second line risk leadership role, ensuring the sustainability of Business Banking by being a trusted Operational Risk & Compliance partner for the Corporate, Institutional, and Financial Institutions Group.

Requirements of this role were to design, maintain and embed a 2nd line oversight approach and methodology, covering all aspects of operational and compliance risk in the Business Banking division. This included the planning and leading of themed oversight reviews, and an assessment as to the adequacy and effectiveness of 1st line risk management practices.

Assisting the Wholesale Banking performance units (Global Markets, Treasury, Asset Servicing, Specialised Finance, and Financial Institutions) on a global basis by providing advice and guidance to monitor and optimise their operational risk responsibilities. Providing objective consultancy advice to help the organisation to identify and appropriately.

Two years as head of operational risk & compliance for the customer relationship arm of Institutional Banking, followed by three years in a key risk advisor role for the corporate & leveraged acquisition finance; project financing; syndications; securitisation; mergers & acquisitions; alternative assets; and private equity businesses.

Responsible for product management and strategic product positioning for the lending portfolio across ANZ’s various customer segments, including: Corporate; Small Business; Rural; Private Banking; and Micro business. Led the overall division pricing function for both the asset and liability portfolios.

Relationship management responsibility for a portfolio of corporate clients, identifying and maximising share of wallet opportunities, as well as responsibility for new business acquisition, marketing and planning.

Independent reviews of the Bank’s lending assets, including the basis of lending decisions, and report on the integrity and adequacy of credit management processes / overall portfolio quality. Assess compliance with policy and procedures.

Preparation of responses for formal banking tenders / proposals for target clients in the Small Business, Corporate & Institutional client segments on a national basis.
