I am currently involved in the Destination Earth initiative, working on forecast verification and diagnostics for NWP and AI km-scale global forecasts.

I am investigating heatwave predictability over Europe in seasonal to sub-seasonal time scales. I am using ML techniques and S2S state-of-the-art forecast models.

The instrumental record alone is not enough for disentangling anthropogenic climate change from the background of natural climate variability. I am interested in the reconstruction of past climate conditions and the investigation of climate variability and change during the Holocene. I apply numerical models together with biological/ geological climate archives and statistical methods in order to analyze the amplitude and structure of decadal and multi-decadal climate variability, focusing mainly in the North Atlantic-European sector. Recently, I have been working on the long-term predictability of atmospheric circulation and its potential application on Climate Reconstructions during the last two millennia.
