Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Manage a team of 5 System Administrators within a military and contracted mixed logistical support environment. Responsible for day to day maintenance activities of multiple secure defence networks, including security and product release patch management, release and deployment and web interface fault finding. Holding personnel management responsibilities including bi-annual appraisal reporting, tool and equipment inventories and CIS quality assurance. Responsible for 3 military general technical electricians within the secure environment.Represent the authority as a stakeholder for customer service review between contracted IT service provision, providing decision and input for projects, security actions and change.

Falkland Islands (Malvinas)

Manager and head of department of the on site system control team, responsible for Island wide telephony and radar picture for Information System Services (ISS) Falkland Islands. Operating a high tempo bi-service team of RAF and Army personnel, maintaining the operationally critical radar picture feed backbone. Liaison with on site contractors to ensure team operate within service level agreements. Personnel administration for a 25 strong team including appraisal reporting and military discipline.

Lincolnshire

Head of cryptographic custodian account for one of the UKs main operating bases housing the Typhoon and Tornado aircraft. Leading a team of 3, I was directly responsible to the Stn Cdr for the safe custody, issue and accounting of all cryptographic assets. Introduced the UKs first ever black data double encryption system, now used on multiple platforms across the MoD.

Operations

JNCO IM responsible for administration of information management tasks for the Joint Force Support Afghanistan Head Quarters 16. One year detachment, underwent full operational and IM role training at RAF Wittering before deploying as a member of the core staff for HQ JFSp(16). Responsible for the information management security of three different classified operational IT systems in theatre. Ensuring the safe import and export of nationally sensitive data during operation Herrick 18 Afghanistan, categorising and preparation for information withdrawal for national archives. Op classified web site management.

Raf Wittering

Responsible for all telecommunication installations, mobile, laptop and direct exchange lines on site. Assisted the projects office for all large scale moves and installations including new IT hardware, telephones, secure lines, video teleconferencing, mobile and laptop management. Liaised with all off site contractors in preparation for installation works, POC for all BT engineers and cable management. Implemented the sites first direct dial telephone system, allowing off site calls to bypass MoD operators providing on site personnel with direct external phone numbers, saving money for the MoD in the process. Introduced and managed the installation of the RAF central low flying and noise complaints team, housed at RAF Wittering, including multi function answering system, new easy to remember national number and auto answer digital hardware.

Raf Wittering

JNCO supervisor in charge of a team of 4 ICT Technicians and 1 contractor for the station IT network. Responsible for the efficient repair, maintenance and support for over 700 workstations on site. Experienced and trained in service desk software operating ITIL framework for IT service provision.Dual role as the SNCO in charge of the local data communications network providing IT cable infrastructure maintenance, patching, hardware moves and in building structured cabling. Responsible for the decommissioning of the station legacy Windows XP network, including timely disconnection and replacement of all UADS, server drawdown, removal of cabling, reconditioning of over 50 patch panels around the site. Liaison and critical board member with new MoD contracted services in preparation for the defence information infrastructure future (DIIF).
