Pursuing a career in a field that combines my interests embedded systems and digital communication where I can solve problems has been my career goal for quite a while now. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of New Brunswick. Previously, I graduated with a Bachelors' degree in Electronics Engineering from University of Bahrain where I learned a lot about networking, signal processing, IoT, green energy, radio communication among others by working on personal and course-required projects. One of the major highlights of my time in UoB was winning the best senior design project (also known as Capstone project) award in my final year with a team of four other talented engineering students. While working on this project titled “Design and Implementation of a Smart, Flexible & Environment Friendly Vertical Axis Wind Turbine”, I worked with a diverse team with four other individuals from different backgrounds, nationalities and skillsets who majored in different Engineering disciplines (two majored in Mechanical Engineering and two in Electronics Engineering). Working on this project taught me how to think outside the box and solve multifaceted problems as we constantly had to fix Mechanical engineering problems such as braking and vibration using electrical engineering concepts and solve electrical engineering problems using mechanical engineering concepts.I have co-authored two papers titled “Design and Implementation of a Smart, Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine” and "Design and implementation of a cost-effective smart heart monitoring system" at the “3rd Smart Cities Symposium” which was organized by the IET (https://communities.theiet.org/communities/events/item/164/39/24194).My work experience at AlMufeed I.T. further increased my interest in Electronics devices as I got to work with several home automation products and got to see the advancement in this field first-hand. Over the past few years I have spent some of my free time working on a few automation projects with Python. I have also spent some time picking up new skills and polishing up on old ones. Some of these skills include PCB design, C++, Python and Matlab.
