My goal is to create the most authentic and engaging instruction and experience for my students. The kiddos enter my room as students and leave as researchers and creators. My students are assessed through Project Based Assessments. The students create through the development of 3 dimensional projects as well as web-based. I use a green screen to create video lectures for my students, and my students will create presentations for me using the green screen. I provide distance learning opportunities for my students by connecting them with authors and content experts across the nation and world. I also help agencies establish a distance learning program that enables them to connect and communicate with schools all over the world. Show less

I am an ambassador for Genially. I have been using their software for some time and I am passionate about its effectiveness in the classroom. The ease of using templates to build engaging learning experiences for students has been much needed, and this software allows me to not only instruct students in an individualized manner, but it allows me to gather data regarding student interaction as well. I became a teacher because I have a passion for students to see history as it really happened. I want them to be able to envision the sights, sounds, smells, feelings, and emotions that history has gone through. I have tried throughout my years of teaching to give students real opportunities to experience history: Society for Creative Anachronisms, Building Fort Necessity in the middle of winter, on location when cannons are loaded and fired, and much more.
