Being involved in education has always been about having a positive impact on the life of the children in my charge. Being a classroom teacher has been super vehicle for this effort. I am now looking to move into a leadership position so I can have more influence on outcomes at a higher level. Since I qualified, I have been teaching on an off for more than a decade and in that time, fortunate enough to have taught on four continents, in a myriad of schools both public and private. Currently, I am teaching in Aberdeenshire, where several people have been instrumental in developing my educational leadership skills. I have recently completed the into headship program at Aberdeen University and I am hopeful, next year, to be completing my MSC in leadership.In a distributed leadership role I have been central in developing a whole school assessment policy, a refresh of the positive behaviour policy, and am in the process of setting up a Professional Learning Community. All these efforts have contributed to school improvement.
