- The role involved, maintaining 6 fly lines, designing crosses and collecting viable testis for DNA and RNA extraction, which involved skilful dissection.- To quantify the maternal DNA, I performed qPCR. Comparing maternal DNA content between wild type and Upf1 gene mutant flies, which would help understand the significance of UPF1 in maternal DNA deletion.- Reporting daily updates and maintaining a detailed lab notebook, along with good laboratory practices (GLP). - Successfully obtained data and inferred at the end of 4 months, UPF1 did not govern the deletion of maternal DNA in Drosophila melanogaster.
