The Brown Design Workshop is a space for the facilitation of student designs and fabrication. In the workshop are standard tools, as well as 3D Printers, laser cutters, and CNC equipment.-Assist users with project conceptualization and realization-Monitor up to 100+ users at any time for safety and good practice-Mentor new hires with one-on-one training and advising for full semester-Teach workshops on 3D printing, laser cutting, wood and metal fabrication; maintain equipment-Contribute to major expansion and modification of space and equipment throughout tenure

Worked with the Leading Edge team in the School of Engineering on developing an oscillating hydrofoil device for harvesting energy from tidal and river flows with funding from the Neal Mitchell - Systems Thinking Project Award. My focus included data acquisition and processing with particular consideration of the open, wet testing environment and the high volume of data. I worked to ensure data is properly and reliably recorded, stored, and updated live for continuous testing; built a system for cable routing and protection from salt water and heat; and contributed to data processing to inform future testing.-Built data acquisition system for 2kW prototype device: affixed instrumentation, built waterproof routing system, wrote control code-Wrote and implemented post-processing routines for data using MATLAB-Wrote thorough documentation for system components and post-processing routines

-Worked with colleagues to offer support in academics, transition, and issues surrounding first-generation college students for 50-60 residents-Hosted programs and activities based on support foci with up to 60 attendees

Received an Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award (UTRA) to work in the Breuer Lab in collaboration with the Aeromechanics & Evolutionary Morphology Lab at Brown University. The work was focused on adaptive compliance membrane wings.-Researched the viscoelastic response of an electrically actuated membrane with applications in the design of micro air vehicles-Used high speed cameras, DAQ board, and MATLAB to capture and process footage and information about applied electrical signals-Designed and tested alternative fabrication processes to meet practical needs in weight savings and ease of production

Breakthrough Providence has a dual mission: to create a pathway to college for low-income, academically motivated middle school students in Providence Public Schools, and to encourage talented high school and college students to pursue careers in education.-Mentored and taught math to high-potential, low-income middle school students-Organized and executed athletic activities, as well as managed logistics for an overnight event -Earned first employee of the week award
