Dedicated individual and University of California, Merced alumni; earning a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in Public Health. I am proud to be the first in my family to graduate from a 4-year institution. I have served the Merced community as a Community Organizer where I developed strong communication and organizational skills. I was a team player but also performed tasks individually. As a community organizer, I was required to be flexible with my work schedule and had to manage multiple projects at once while working in a fast paced environment. I had to adapt quickly to any situation to complete my tasks. I had to be efficient with my work and always maintained a positive attitude. One of the greatest accomplishments was in May 2017 where I helped to manage a team of 16 phone bankers and 10 canvassers during a 3 week statewide Civic Engagement Project. My team contacted 6,671 Merced County residents and our goal was 3,655. That is a 182.5% increase of our goal. Out of 16 other organizations, we came in 3rd place in the state. One of the keys to our success was maintaining a positive attitude within our team. I know my excellent communication skills, leadership skills, and my eagerness to learn will help me be successful with any position. My major in Cognitive Science, sparked my interest in the area of analyzing data, quantitative or qualitative research, and problem solving. An asset I can bring into the team is that I am not afraid to ask or to troubleshoot when I do not know how to go about something. I always go out of my way to try to find a solution. I am a lifelong learner, a self-starter, dependable and will complete all tasks accurately and in a timely manner. I seek a career where I can utilize my current skills and my education to serve organizations in private, public and social sectors. I look forward to the start of a challenging and rewarding career focused on research, analyzing data, or helping the community.
