I manage long-term funds, applying value investing principles to protect and grow capital over the long-term by purchasing underpriced companies based on fundamental analysis.I became interested in investing in the public markets in 2017 and quickly adopted the principles of value investing as a bedrock where I have been on an all-consuming journey of acquiring knowledge on value investing, learning from all the greats such as Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Benjamin Graham, Phil Fisher, as well as some of today's best value investment fund managers such as Mohnish Pabrai, Terry Smith, Guy Spier, Matthew Peterson, Howard Marks, etc.I come from a data analysis background and naturally, I have been able to easily apply this to the evaluation of companies in terms of financial statement analysis, due diligence and valuation.I do a lot of reading and thinking about value investing, and seek out great writings from great investors.I also do a lot of reading about industries of interest and companies in them, which naturally leads to new discoveries which, through time, widens my circle of competence. If I find a company that is worth diving into, I will read their annual statements, investor/CEO letters, writings about that industry and really try and learn as much as I can.I will look at various metrics of the business’s past performance (such as ROCE, ROIC, ROA, FCF margin, growth in sales, OCF, EPS and FCF) and create valuation models of where I think the company could be in 10 years.I will then apply methods such as discounted cash flow, payback time analysis or 10 CAP, to name a few, to arrive at an estimation of intrinsic value.I will always invest with a Margin Of Safety and buy a business for less than it is conservatively worth. If you focus on the downside, then the upside should take care of itself.I would love to apply these skills to the investment industry as part of an investment vehicle to build enormous wealth for long-term partners.
