Behavioral Health Consultant Working With High-Risk PopulationsReginald Williams Llc Apr 2003 - PresentBased In The Washington, D.C. RegionOver the past 21 years, I have been a public health advocate, dedicating my efforts to serving high-risk constituents in the judicial justice system. My work has not only advised organizations working with high-risk clients but also significantly impacted the lives of these individuals, bringing about positive change and hope. I authored the curriculum and partnered with the County's Court System, Police Department, and the State's Attorney's Office to provide an intensive nine-month cognitive identification and social-emotional program that addressed Black men and adolescent males (primarily) in the judicial court system.I served four years as the program manager for Safe Neighborhoods, a local affiliate of the nationally recognized Cure Violence initiative. This program takes a public health approach to reducing the spread of violence between participants ages 14 to 25. I employed unique programming to achieve the mission of reducing violence.I partnered with the Department of Juveniles Services to provide intensive community-based case management and monitoring of high-risk juvenile offenders. My task required me to monitor the youth; instead, I created collaborative workgroups that provided engaging opportunities for the constituents to connect with and build their intimate (emotional) skills. I was an advisor for the Diverse Male Student Initiative (Prince George's Community College) and its students. The program empowers Black and Brown male students in their wholeness as they strive to complete their college education successfully. As an advisor, I provided a therapeutic ear that assisted the young men in managing their social-emotional turbulence. I was also responsible for helping with their professional development.Visit www.reginaldwilliams.org to learn more about the work of Reginald Williams
