I'm a professional bean counter and aspiring financial advisor. Raised in a conservativeAnabaptist setting, I completed my K-8 education before getting my first job at age 14. Three years later, I returned to school for my GED, which I earned with honors. Since then, I've earned a bachelor's degree in accounting through Pearson Accelerated Pathways and Thomas Edison State University. I currently serve as a controller for multiple companies, where my attention to detail and diligent work ethic have helped me gain experience in accounting principles and in solving accounting problems. From mowing neighbors' lawns and picking rocks out of Illinois cornfields to helping my dad with weekend handyman jobs, I've learned the value of honest labor from an early age. During my career in custom carpentry, my attention to detail served me well in building high-quality gazebos with precision. Since moving to an accounting career, I've used that same precision and work ethic to understand business finance and creatively solve accounting challenges. I'm passionate about working with motivated individuals and organizations, understanding theirgoals, and helping them achieve those goals. I'm on a mission to help organizations connect the dots between their passion and story, and live with the firm belief that the best is yet to come. As a loyal team player, I value commitment to vision and mission execution. I believe that integrity and a positive attitude are incredibly important for success and are keys to building winning relationships. I also believe that seeking first to understand, then be understood, is necessary for helping clients succeed. I strive to be punctual and am intentional in improving my communication skills. I seek to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle in order to perform with energy and enthusiasm. As a lifelong student, I love learning and developing new skills!I thoroughly enjoy traveling and have visited Kurdistan and Honduras with humanitarian aid groups. I alsoenjoy reading, studying leadership development, and brewing an excellent mug of pour-over coffee. I'm an avid runner and cyclist and am constantly training for a race somewhere. I'm a lifelong learner and my passion lies in helping others succeed.
