Led a team of developers to create a billing engine that would match product distributions with appropriate contracts and tariffs to create billing records, invoices and journal entries. Took responsibility for oversight as well as hands-on development contribution for a team of seven developers and two quality assurance professionals. Worked directly with Architects, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts and Project Managers to track and report progress. Integrated with other teams to ensure that the overall project was reliable and worked consistently across the entire platform.  Developed a billing engine that would bill and invoice product distributions accordingly based on fees established in contracts and tariffs. Designed and developed a fluent, domain specific integration test framework that increased the efficiency of our development and QA staff saving many hours of regression testing and debugging.

Worked with other developers to design and build a custom middleware solution that allowed the thinning and scaling of the traders client platform, consolidation of multiple in house products into a unified trader desktop application using C# and the Microsoft .NET framework for a globally deployed commodities trade blotter using a Service Oriented Architecture. Interfaced the back end servers with multiple different systems to present a common API for client development. Improved overall uptime by designing and developing a remote administration and monitoring tool that provided real time server research and management. Refactored the SQL database eliminating many data corruption issues, improving performance, and reducing maintenance hours.

Initially recruited to work as a software engineer for CyberTrader on the back end systems that connected the company with the various Electronic Communications Networks (ECN’s) and Exchanges around the country, later moved into a role of Team and Technical Lead. Increased Order Execution performance by 300% through multithreading and refactoring of servers. Increased Order Routing System performance by more than a factor of 10 through redesigning and multithreading the server. Improved production issue resolution time by developing systems that allowed quick searching of server logs by support personnel from anywhere on the company intranet, as well as translating complex network protocol messages into comprehendible English.  Improved product quality and problem resolution by developing a suite of tools and simulators used for unit testing, debugging, and reproducing actual market conditions for use in both the development and quality assurance environments.

Developed Java Servelets and web applications using JDK2 and dynamic HTML. Built a translation system to support multiple languages.Recruited to work as a software engineer in the creation of a web application that was used to help with complex decision making processes among large groups of people as well as team collaboration. Improved overall system performance by offloading the database components into a separate database server. Allowed access into foreign markets by designing and implementing a multilingual component that would allow the business to translate the UI into other languages without development’s involvement. Simplified installation of the server side product by designing and developing a web based installation and deployment system.
