As part of the Transport Infrastructure Strategy module for a rail upgrade project between Leeds and Sheffield, fulfilling client requirements such as limiting journey within 30 minutes. This was a team effort, with other participants adding value from their respective areas of expertise such as Railway Expertise, Geotechnical, Transport, and Civil Engineering. A Proposal Report was made highlighting three options (routes) for the upgrade, and a detailed Concept Design Report was prepared over the course of the semester for the selected route. This report considered Societal Assessment using RSSB's Common Social Impact Framework (CSIF), Environmental Assessments (incl. Carbon Modelling), Geological Modelling, and generic civil designs for embankments, bridges, culverts, and tunnels. The design was exhibited in a consolidated manner through a video based on the Infraworks model. The project concluded successfully meeting all the requirements and the team presented it to a university panel via an online presentation. The team scored 87 marks out of 100 for their efforts.
