I was brought on to help in the third version release of a federally mandated system that NASA researchers use to get approval to release their research to the public. I was able to create leaps in efficiency by consolidating features that were previously broken up in multiple sites and by creating automatic processes that no longer needed constant user attention. I now write business software for various organizations within NASA.

I was their sole programmer for almost two years after my hiring supervisor was let go and I assumed his duties. I converted an old system for handling all clients, sales and business details from .NET and MSSQL into PHP and MySQL along with Redis for a few tasks. This included building and maintaining both the public facing and private websites, the relational databases using Amazon Web Services, the GIT repositories, the dedicated server with WHM and cPanel on CentOS 5 then Ubuntu Server; writing the automated cron tasks; creating (from scratch) a flexible REST API for clients; then seamlessly performing the switch from the old system to the new one without any changes to how the clients interfaced with U-PIC.

I wrote a scheduling website for the department that is still in use. The site is based on PHP and MySQL. It features auto-saving and statistical analysis. I also received multiple commendations for work outside of my regular duty including tabulating squad statistics; creating new, and replacing old, forms and documents; and writing, performing and proctoring the training of new employees.
