Accomplishments:• Established the Governor’s Institute for School Leadership in Delaware – forming the State’s first Superintendent Study Council and Assistant Principal Academy.• Implemented first statewide induction program reaching novice administrators in 19 districts and 21 charter schools annually.• Led work to redesign and implement a statewide evaluation system for all administrators in state – establishing Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) alignment. • Launched state’s first leadership network for principals of high needs schools – supporting leaders through professional learning and coaching.• Secured $1.1 million grant from US DOE to design and launch State’s first special education director certification. Responsibilities:• Supervise the statewide three-year comprehensive induction program for all new school leaders.• Plan and implement annual leadership series to increase leadership skills and improve student outcomes (topics – Design Thinking, equity, literacy) • Support design and implementation of leadership pipelines throughout the State aligned to research-based practices.• Support high-needs schools through the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a leadership network for high-needs schools that includes coaching and professional learning. • Approve and monitor preparation programs leading to administrator certification. • Monitor and support the statewide evaluation system for all school administrators.• Represent Delaware and actively participate in the Council for State School Officers (CCSSO) school leadership collaborative.• Co-Direct US DOE Special Education Administrative Leadership Grant.• Regularly engage stakeholders in the revision of all regulations related to school leadership.
