While most recently I held a customer relations position in the construction industry, I now intend to pursue my previous career in communications. I had a successful stint as the Manager of Communications and Membership for the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA).In my capacity as Manager of Communications I was responsible for researching, writing, editing and proofreading a monthly newsletter and and a bi-monthly magazine targeted specifically to our member physicians. The design and layout of these publications were also under my purview.I was also an integral member of the planning committee that coordinated the logistics involved in an annual Continuing Education Convention attended by hundreds of physicians.This included recruiting speakers and presenters and vetting their C.V's. The coordination of audio/visual needs and requests for speakers as well as the general convention needs were also my responsibility. While developing the official Convention Program I redesigned it making it more user friendly and more cost efficient.I supplied administrative support for various physician committees which included taking, editing and providing the meeting agendas and minutes. I worked closely with an advertising agency to produce several PSA's during flu season and worked in conjunction with WJR radio in the production of a call-in "Ask The Doctor" program.Prior to my work with MOA I worked as a freelance creative consultant and writer on projects as varied as video scripts for a truck heating system for Webasto, a video script and direction assistance for a "Conflict Resolution" program for the Detroit Public Schools and the compilation and editing for a Notary Public operation manual.As a copywriter and proofreader for a marketing and communications firm, I coordinated pre-print projects for media guides for Championship Auto Racing Teams as well as wrote copy for advertising and brochures for various companies including BASF.Specialties: Concepts, writing, editing, proofreading and style. Working in a team atmosphere our creative group continually met or exceeded the clients expectations and delivered the completed project whether it was a media guide, catalog, brochure or adverting plan.
