Currently working on a project to provide an Identity and Access Management Service to the North Carolina Education Cloud - a Race to the Top funded initiative. This will provide identities and accounts to all K-12 students, teachers, parents and guests for accessing Cloud services. These services will include "shared infrastructure" like a Learning Object Repository, Learning Management System, email service, Instructional Improvement System, etc. Also included would be educational applications and services purchased through consortium buying for the state's school districts and charter schools.

• Managed a staff of four Identity and Access Management (IAM) employees with responsibilities for user account management and the provisioning of over 80,000 active users, and Application Security with responsibility for security access and audit of the ERP systems (HR, Finance, and Student).• Accomplishments included planning, organizing and implementing the IAM Initiative (as mentioned above), the successful implementation of the Systems Access Request (SAR) application to provision ERP security access roles directly into PeopleSoft through a workflow request system, and the collaborative consolidation of campus active directory environments to a single, campus-wide AD.• Additionally, worked with the campus data stewards and University Business Officers to obtain endorsement to implement a project to automatically remove all security access to the ERP systems when an employee vacates their job (either through termination, retirement or transfer).

Managed Hosted Systems Services (HSS) team of four System Administrators responsible for over 200 windows servers running applications for departments and colleges that lacked IT support.Developed and instituted a dynamic cost model for charging HSS customers based on the number of servers, services provided and any subsidies or discounts.Revised the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) executed with each customer into a standard, concise document which clearly stated the expectations and responsibilities of each party.Established excellent customer relationships by meeting with each customer to review the SLA and explain the cost model and how service charges were calculated. Accommodations were made where possible and appropriate to reduce charges through consolidation of servers or applications.

• Managed technical teams totaling seven employees responsible for the support and security of over 250 Windows servers, the medical center’s web servers, and the campus authentication environment.• Applications supported included PeopleSoft middleware servers, Ancillary Services (department medical application servers) and windows infrastructure servers• Major accomplishments included the migration from Windows NT domains to Windows 2000 Active Directory, development and implementation of an open source employee portal and a suite of “locked down” client machines for the hospital units. A special mobile client was outfitted with a sensor that blanked and locked the screen when a practitioner left the proximity of the device.• Key participant on multiple steering teams at the medical center dealing with HIPAA regulations and IT compliance, systems and network security, and de-authentication (automatic logout).

• Provided senior technical support at Contoocook, NH site that included hands-on windows client and server administration, network management and project management.• Proposed, designed and implemented new local area network infrastructure. Saved corporation over $20,000 by building network hubs from used modules and backplanes.• Instrumental in implementation of Microsoft Exchange as replacement for older email application.• Organized, hired and managed technical support group (OpenVMS system managers and operators) and data center operations.• Provided telecommunications support of data, voice and terminal networks as well as all LAN hardware, software and cabling connections for the facility.
