"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all".- Aristotle My name is Crystal James from Detroit Michigan.Currently, I am a second year teacher at Dallas ISD. I am overjoyed at how amazing my first and second year have been so far. I've been able to build positive relationships with many of my students and colleagues which, in turn, has positively impacted student data. I set high expectations for my self and my students each and every day. My favorite part about teaching is uplifting the students who truly need it the most and when I finally see their AHA moment, I am just as thrilled as the student is. I also thrive on advocating for all of my students and going the extra mile to meet their needs. My style of teaching may seem a bit different, however, I allow my students to be creative, engaged in appropriate discourse, and focused in their own way. I am constantly seeking out education for my self on differentiation and culturally responsive pedagogy. I love to discuss pedagogical practices and debate on different topics with colleagues.
