Welcome to my professional space! I am Melissa Sendic, an Environmental Engineer with a Master's Degree in Science and Technology from Sorbonne, specializing in Forest Economies and Innovation. With 16 years of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a profound understanding of how to cultivate a diverse ecosystem of solutions capable of addressing the challenges faced by territories like the Brazilian Amazon and the Cerrado (Tropical savanna) and leveraging traditional communities' well-being.Before my role as the Climate and Land Use Alliance Program Officer, I successfully led the grantmaking portfolio of the Innovation Lab of the Inter-American Development Bank in Brazil. Being in charge of designing a crosscutting proposal to support community-based enterprises in the PanAmazonian region with GCF funds. Additionally, I spearheaded the South-South cooperation portfolio with African countries at the Brazilian Agency of Cooperation. Responsible for implementing Agroecology and food security projects in Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.Leveraging my diplomatic profile, I have undertaken high-level negotiations with governments, international organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), traditional community organizations, and the private sector.
