This position at Microsoft is to advice customers how to user Power Platform with focus on Power BI. I work with the largest 150+ companies in Denmark, I also work with partners on customer engagements. Whenever I get a chance I present at conferences, user communities or teach students.An important part of my job is to stay updated on latest and future development in technology – and I spend many hours educating myself. The product I spend more than 80% of my time on is Power BI and I have been working with Power BI since it launched in July 2015.Technology used is Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Data Services and Microsoft 365.

This job is a development of my position as Business Intelligence Consultant. The tasks include participation in strategic projects and establishment of performance management related solutions. The responsibilities cover BI platform including tools/solutions and over all Data Warehouse architecture. Whereas the Business Intelligence Consultant role was more technically focused this new role is more focused on supporting the business and working with more strategic projects. One of the major project I have been involved in is establishment of a Business Controlling solution where we are able to follow up on budget and fiscal figures in the whole TOP-TOY organization (in practice separated in 3 different companies and 5+ business units). Furthermore, I have worked on a project related to performance reporting on suppliers.Technology used is IBM Cognos, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server & Microsoft Analysis Services

In this job I am responsible for the BI platform covering both Data Warehouse and frontend tools/solutions. My tasks are to lead and take part in the development the BI platform, make sure the existing BI reports/solutions fulfill the requirements of the business and take active part in projects regarding execution of business operations (e.g. executing sales in shops and establishing bonus framework). Another part of the role has been operational tasks and make sure the BI solution was performing well.When I started this job there was no DW or BI at the company. My first tasks were to establish a DW and recommend which BI tool to use (IBM Cognos was chosen). After 6 months the first BI solution was in place and ready to be used. During this job I have also been involved in a project about renewing the reporting in retail stores and making the content of the reports more operational – this involved developing individual reports to around 300 stores in 6 different languages. After the establishment of the DW I have been involved in extending the DW and BI covering everything from defining the data requirements to building the final solution. I have not only been working with BI consumers inside the company as I have been involved in construction of weekly reporting and projects regarding analyzing various business opportunities with external suppliers. Another major challenge I faced was to be responsible and the primary resource in upgrading from IBM Cognos 8.4 to IBM Cognos 10. In this job I have also been teaching coworkers in how to use various BI solutions and supporting when there were questions or challenges with the BI solutions.Technology used is IBM Cognos, Oracle Database and Oracle Warehouse Builder.

In this job I was presales consultant supporting the Danish sales team. My task was to act as the technical resource in the sales process. I was both involved in discussions with potential and existing customers.During this job I completed Proof of Concept at customers site to demonstrate the technology, performed license audits with existing customers, presented & performed demonstrations for potential customers, participated in BI related conferences and did some teaching.Technology used was MicroStrategy and various databases.

In this job I was a part of the IT department.Main tasks were to establish Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence solution and act as expert on database development. I was responsible for establishing the Nordic Data Warehouse from scratch and make a usable BI solution to satisfy users throughout the organization. This involved everything from analyzing the needs, designing the data model and implementing the solution. Furthermore, I was supporting all internal development regarding how to utilize the databases. It involved data modeling, database design and SQL & PL/SQL programming. During this job I established the foundation for the Nordic Data Warehouse and BI solution. I also got involved a critical database development project where I redesigned and developed a database solution with all roads in Denmark with the Danish CPR Road register as the primary source. Another interesting task was to get involved in evaluating a new business opportunity by building a prototype with a solution involving all real estate information in Denmark.Technology used was Oracle Database, Oracle Discoverer and Oracle Warehouse Builder.

I was involved in all parts of projects from analysis, design, implementation, test and runtime.As consultant it was important quickly to be able to adapt to new environments – both technically and socially – at different customer sites. Because of my work in the Business Intelligence field it was important to be able to communicate and understand both technical and business people.During this job I worked with a client where we established a Data Warehouse and reporting from scratch. Furthermore, I was involved in with one customer for more than 2 years where the first project was to “reinvent” the existing Data Warehouse and reporting solution in order to meet the current requirements and utilize the newest technology. Besides this initial project there were among others projects involving extension of the Data Warehouse and publishing reports on the internet. Technology used was Oracle Database, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Warehouse Builder and Oracle Portal.

Furthermore, I developed a packed solution using the products Oracle Discoverer and Oracle Portal which enabled single sign on and usage of web interface for Oracle’s reporting tool Discoverer. I presented this packed solution to the European consulting organization and implemented it at multiple customers. I also worked with a customer and established a reporting solution on the internet with appropriate security setup.Technology used was Oracle Database, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Warehouse Builder and Oracle Portal.
