I was invited to serve as the first program manager for The Tooth Taxi, a major oral health program (state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic) designed to provide free dental care to underserved youth in the state of Oregon. This nonprofit program was created through a partnership with the Dental Foundation of Oregon, OEA Choice Trust and ODS.In this role, I managed operational and logistical aspects involved in taking The Tooth Taxi from a rough idea to a gold model program that provides $700K in donated dental services annually. Managing: strategic planning, partnerships, staffing, volunteer coordination, field logistics, presentations and program marketing. Key Accomplishments:•Under my leadership, our team has taken what began as an experimental joint venture between an insurance company and a nonprofit/educational agency and transformed it into a highly successful operation that has reached 13,000 students across 200+ sites since 2008, delivering nearly $4 million in free dental services.• Through thoughtful marketing communications planning / campaigns, expanded the Tooth Taxi brand and enticed partner agencies. Our specific efforts have included delivery of engaging presentations, development of marketing collateral and annual reports, and securing local media coverage.• I developed operational protocols and checklists to ensure every Tooth Taxi visit follows consistent methodology for clinic maintenance and delivers a positive experience for youth participants.
