Currently responsible for providing leadership and guidance on the state legislative and budget strategy for George Mason University.

Responsibilities included for planning and executing the overall program of Government Relations with elected and appointed officials on the federal, state, and local levels for the University and VCU Health System.

Worked with the Secretary of Education on legislative, budget and policies matters associated with the Department of Education, local school divisions, 15 state-supported colleges and universities, 23 community colleges, the Library of Virginia and state-supported museums.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic governmental and community relations program at the local and state levels. Serves as liaison between university and the Governor’s Office, the General Assembly, agencies of the Commonwealth, local boards of supervisors and the Richmond City Council.

Served at VCU as governmental relations assistant with responsibilities to plan and execute a comprehensive governmental relations program at the local and state levels.

Established, administered and enforced the provisions of the Commercial Driver Training School Program. Developed legislative, budgetary and regulatory tools necessary to regulate the licensees and ensure consumer protection.

Responsibilities included working with the secretary and the two deputy secretaries to oversee 14 agencies within the secretariat. Coordinated legislative proposals, monitored legislation and assisted agencies with budget processes.

Coordinated the adoption of the Governor/Attorney General anti-crime legislative proposals. Provided information and assistance to judges, commonwealth’s attorneys, sheriffs and citizens.

Served on the Senate Clerk’s staff (Senate General Laws and Senate Agriculture) and the House Clerk’s staff (House Appropriations) during the 1981 and 1982 sessions of the General Assembly.
