Director Project DevelopmentBrc Imagination Arts May 2008 - Apr 2013Greater Los Angeles AreaAfter managing the Creative Development team for several years, BRC sent me out on the road to bring in new projects. Most of my work at this time focused primarily on museums and cultural attractions. I’ve always had a passion for true-life stories, and these projects fit me perfectly. My life as a middle child prepared me well for the problem-solving, diplomacy, and relationship-building this position demanded. I gained a reputation for gently and deftly helping clients navigate the complex and sometimes mysterious process of building an attraction. -
Director Of Creative DevelopmentBrc Imagination Arts Nov 2004 - May 2008Greater Los Angeles AreaWhen I was offered the job at BRC Imagination Arts, my first thought was, “These people work on cool stuff! I could take a detour from my current career and learn something new.” This detour turned out to be a whole new path. Managing a team of artists, writers, designers, and planners, it was my responsibility to keep concept projects on budget, on schedule and on target. Seeking out and maintaining a pool of creatives was also a key task. I discovered I had a knack for finding new talent with hidden potential. Several of my hires were new to the business and have since enjoyed thriving careers in themed entertainment. -
Co-FounderComputer Therapy Llc Jan 2002 - Oct 2004Greater Los Angeles AreaAfter Meek and Associates, I realized my skills as a communicator and tech head were an unusual combination. Joining forces with my friend and fellow actor Lancer Dean Shull, we formed Computer Therapy LLC, providing technology consulting services to small business and non-profits. Our services included database building, project management, technology training, website development, search engine optimization, online marketing, troubleshooting, research, implementation, and more. We were patient, honest, and explained technical stuff to our clients in ways they could understand. This kept us in high demand and led to a job offer from one of our clients (BRC Imagination Arts). That was the start of an amazing chapter in my professional life.

Swiss Army KnifeMeek And Associates Jun 1997 - Dec 2001Greater Los Angeles AreaThis strategic compensation consulting firm gave me the wonderful opportunity to learn new skills. As a small business, it was “all hands on deck” when something needed to get done. We need a website (this was the 90s. Websites were still a new thing!)? I’ll teach myself. Need an IT department? I’ll learn how to set up and maintain the server and email system. Need relational databases to perform data audits and analyses? I’ll learn that, too! This place required creative problem solving and analytical thinking. It is where I began to merge my creative and technical minds. Owners Catherine Meek and Al Earle were very important mentors in my life. I treasure their friendship.

Executive AssistantViacom Sep 1995 - Aug 1996Greater New York City AreaLocated in the heart of Times Square, Viacom afforded me the opportunity to earn a living while continuing to perform and direct on stage. Working as executive assistant to the Vice President of New Technologies scratched my life-long “techie” itch. Our department researched and explored emerging technologies across all Viacom entertainment companies, including Paramount Pictures, MTV, Simon & Schuster, VH1, Blockbuster, and Nickelodeon. This was my last job in New York before moving my life to Los Angeles. -
Executive AssistantCiti Jun 1994 - Sep 1995Greater New York City AreaIn between theater jobs, I served as executive assistant to the Chief of Staff of William R. Rhodes, Vice President of Latin America. During my time at Citibank, Latin America was heading toward default and economic collapse. It was absolutely fascinating watching Mr. Rhodes navigate and negotiate a resolution that averted a major crisis. This was an invaluable education into the world of high-level diplomacy, strategy, and negotiation. -

ActorAllenberry Playhouse Mar 1990 - Nov 1990Boiling Springs, PaRight out of NYU, I landed this apprenticeship at this famous central Pennsylvania theater where we staged 9 shows in 9 months. In addition to learning everything from set construction to stage lighting, costuming, and stage management, I had the opportunity to hone my acting skills alongside some incredibly talented people. By the time I finished, I was eligible to join Actors Equity Association and begin my career in professional theater.

InternNiko Associates Inc Jan 1989 - Apr 1989Greater New York City AreaMy final year at NYU, I decided to take a break from drama classes to take an internship with theatrical producer and manager Manny Kladitis. Productions at the time included Broadway and touring productions of “Dreamgirls,” “Mame,” “House of Flowers” and “Chu Chem.” I was given the task of taking handling house seat orders, among other support duties. Mostly, I watched and learned from a great producer who loves the business. Looking back, I guess some of that rubbed off.
