Cost Accountant
Current• Financial analysis and planning variance analysis, monthly and weekly reporting and forecasting, review of standard product costing models, evaluation of plant’s productivity targets, review of the weekly production accounting process, and cost center reviews. • Analyze efficiencies, manufacturing costs, and advise operations to improve productivity.• Support managers analyze expenses and ensure correct codifications of expenses are in line with the company's needs.• Analyze yield and labor variances and identify the sources of the variances• Responsible for the creation of Weekly Vital meeting report & summary as well as ad hoc reports as needed by management• Month-end/Year-end Closing Processes for manufacturing plants.• Compliance with internal controls and corporate policies and ensure a strong internal controls environment at the plant.• Lead the month-end close, prepare related reports, investigate general ledger discrepancies, and balance select asset accounts. • Responsible for fixed assets and capital projects reviews by maintaining the AFE system & capitalizing/expensing completed AFEs.• Create and maintain the unvouchered reports for both inventory & non-inventory.• Work with Plant Operations on Cost of Quality events—assign the cost of quality events and managing the process.• Review and approve procurement card transactions, review the coding of receipts monthly.• Work with the plant leadership team to develop budgets, metrics, and financial goals that align with plant production and improvement goals.• Assist with the budget process: validation of sales numbers, to budgeted production pounds, yield targets, RE-labor efficiency targets, etc.• Collaborate with all departments to ensure all budget information is submitted as timely and accurately as possible.• Investigate discrepancies in spending. • Conduct monthly meetings with dept. managers to go over their department spend vs budget.
