Senior Manager, Clinical Programs
As Senior Manager of Clinical Programs I supported workstreams involving clinic members (local health departments, STD clinics, Ryan White Clinics, FQHCs), industry partners, STD subject matter experts, people with lived experience, and federal partners. As the lead on the Check Yourself home testing project, I oversaw partnerships, project management, and implementation of an innovative solution for home-based collection of specimens for HIV and STD testing. This project arose out COVID-19 pandemic-related needs as well as a need to create more accessible, patient-centered solutions for regular, preventative STD testing, and was supported by a grant from Hologic's grant program. Startup work included convening panel of experts to support identifying an industry partner to innovate a solution for home-based collection of specimens for HIV and STD testing. Using environmental scans and capacity assessments, our team selected 5 initial pilot sites that included urban and rural health jurisdictions. The program's two use cases allowed for workflows where kits are given to patients in the field, and another where the patient contacts their health department to have a kit shipped to their address using discreet packaging. As part of our clinical programming I oversaw planning and execution of monthly webinars for a clinic audience, as well as standalone series. Series followed a model of landscape/problem definition, case studies of interventions being implemented in the field, and patient and provider perspectives, with the goal of tying issues to actionable solutions. Topics included congenital syphilis,HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis for women, diagnosis and treatment of herpes simplex virus, and status-neutral patient navigation. My role also involved smaller contracts as a TA provider or consultant to local health jurisdictions. Topics included Ending the HIV Epidemic funding in Dade County, Florida, and Shelby County, Tennessee.
