As Restitution Recovery Manager, I manage critical and sensitive issues related to the CalVCB mission. I have statewide directive over management, administration and coordination of the Restitution Recovery Unit (RRU). I work with various programs including Fiscal, Administration, Legal and Compensation Divisions to coordinate restitution recovery. I am responsible for the management, organization of resources and implementation of objectives for the unit. I manage/ direct staff to perform a variety of analyst/administration functions, including creating policies, procedures and performance measurement tools. I work with outside state and county agencies to identify restitution collection best practices to improve collection of restitution funds, and direct the disbursement of state restitution funds in accordance with state and federal regulations. Other strategic initiatives I have been involved in include, the Report to the Governor and the Department of Finance - Victim Services in California: A Recommendation for Combining the State’s Victims’ Programs (October 2018), the Cal OES/CalVCB Strategic Plan for Victim Services in California (2019-2021) and the development and launch of CalVCB Online. I was also responsible for grant writing, submission, reporting, administration and implementation of victim services grants for the improvement to delivery of victim services programs as evaluated TRC grants submissions, made recommendations for award, and NOFA content.
