Over 48 years, Mike developed Insight from a one-man creative consultancy in Auckland to its current situation as a business-focused, highly strategic creative company, employing a team of 26 in Auckland and Wellington. Having stepped down from the Managing Director role in late 2014, I am still Insight’s largest shareholder, and focus on strategic advice in my areas of passion: corporate branding, design as a business accelerator, IR (investor relations) communications, annual reporting optimisation and integrated reporting, IPOs and capital raising communication.My company has been privileged to be entrusted with projects from large corporate clients such as Lion Nathan, Spark, Auckland Airport, Mighty River Power/Mercury, Fletcher Building, Air New Zealand, CERA, Vector, Kiwi Property Group, Property for Industry, Fonterra, Transpower, F&P Healthcare, Bayleys, NZTE, Auckland Council, Chapman Tripp, Te Papa, many government departments, Goldman Sachs, UBS and DeutscheCraigs. Close association with senior management of these companies – and past major clients including Fletcher Challenge, Carter Holt Harvey, Lion, The University of Auckland – has been one of the greatest privileges of my career, providing a deep and broad understanding of corporate business, from people who, whether they are aware of it or not, have been my mentors.
