I am a brand strategist and naming specialist with 20+ years of large-agency (Cossette, Publicis) and freelance experience creating, building and overhauling brands for large enterprises, SMEs and startups alike. From Canadian beer and telecom to French cars and New York fashion, I’ve led brand strategy, naming and strategic planning projects across a wonderful range of sectors.My years in agencies gave me a strong in foundation in both brand identity and brand-building, with large-scale corporate identity program and international advertising campaigns. Today, I bring that same discipline to my freelance work, immersing myself in the unique audience, purchase and brand dynamics of each project.The 300+ naming projects I have directed have given me a clear understanding of the interplay between a brand’s vision, its messaging and personality, the codes of its market, and naming linguistics. A key part of my job is building a framework that channels these elements into a meaningful set of naming messages and styles, reducing subjectivity and helping stakeholders to recognize the right name when they see it.I often carry my strategy and naming work through to design and communications development, guiding the work of designers and art directors to create distinctive brand identities and territories. Throughout my career, I've led diverse teams across locations, stakeholder groups, and departments, navigating complex challenges to achieve cohesive results.Beyond branding, I have a wide-ranging interest in all things design-related. I'm an emerging designer-maker of furniture and objects with a first collection of home accessories co-designed with my brother Marc. I’ve recently completed a master of design with my research-creation project and thesis related to scaling up upcycling in furniture and objects, and my first academic paper on the topic will soon be published as part of a book.I also have a longstanding obsession with film. Over the years, I’ve co-produced and directed short films, corporate videos and documentary projects in various corners of the globe, and covered film festivals, writing about films and interviewing festival programmers.Having lived and worked in three continents, I bring bilingual fluency (English-French) as well as a cross-cultural perspective to my work.
