I’m learning how to trust myself more and more everyday. As a Black female entrepreneur, as a mother and as one of the pioneers of the movement to trust Black women, I believe that self-authenticity leads to transformation that can inspire massive movements.I began my journey of true self-exploration over a decade ago with my first entrepreneurial endeavor, Brown Mamas. Self-expression being one of my main vehicles for a purpose-driven life, I began broadcasting live on Facebook in 2013 about the challenges of being a Black mother. Those broadcast led to meetups, the meetups led to events, the events led to a growing online presence and as of today, the community reaches over 10,000 black mothers nationally. From BrownMamas.com, our website that reaches over 7000 readers a month, to the Brown Mama Mindset that has been read by thousands of Black mothers across the nation and the Brown Mama Monologues that has told the stories of over 50 Black mothers in America on-stage, I’ve used my expertise in SEO, natural talent for speaking and writing and a true understanding of my purpose in life to propel my community and myself into rooms I never dreamed I’d be in back when I was a 19-year-old single mom going to Point Park University and working full-time.Today, my resume is vast. Chosen out of thousands of Facebook groups across the world, I’m a graduate of the Facebook Community Accelerator Program. The work that I’ve accomplished with my community was highlighted on the Jennifer Hudson Show. I’m a TEDx speaker, #63 on the Root 100s list of Most Influential African-Americans and have been featured the Pittsburgh Magazine, Wall Street Journal and more.I’m excited about helping people trust themselves so that they can find and inspire their tribe and build massive movements.
