Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in construction management, with pertinent projects including the three phases of The Reconstruction of Edgemere Urban Renewal, a joint endeavor between HPD and DDC with the goal of reconstructing the Far Rockaway area. As a resident engineer, I was responsible for ensuring all house connections were installed as per NYCDEP standards, for checking Contractor’s permits and ensuring all work was done as per NYCDEP specifications and coordinating daily with multiple contractors and City officials.

    This reconstruction of the Edgemere Ave Area in South Queens consisted of upgrading all infrastructure to provide site connections for HPD lots. This involved the installation of water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and catch basins with chute connections. Final restoration included tree installation, landscape work, new steel-faced curb, corner steel-faced curb, detectable warning surfaces, concrete base, and asphalt installation. A major task was getting distribution water main, sanitary and storm sewers approved by NYC DEP so that new house connections can be made, and Certificate of Occupancies issued.

    Contract Value: $18MThis project installed approximately 70,000 LF of 8”, 12” and 20” distribution water main extensions throughout various Queens locations. Work throughout the duration of the project included the provision of all REI services from the pre-construction through the construction and post-construction phases of the project.

    This project was in coordination between NYCEDC and two developers, BFC and Avalon Bay, who were constructing two high-rise buildings. To meet their needs, this project included construction of a new street, Fleet Place, connecting Myrtle Ave and Willoughby St., along with underground water main work, up to 30" of sewer work including manholes and catch basins with chute connections. Roadway restoration included installation of a new bus pad, curb, sidewalk, road base, and paving. The project introduced new traffic patterns and coordinated all stakeholders involved. I coordinated with high rise developers so that both construction projects did not impede one another.

    The project was initiated as part of an initiative to redevelop the Far Rockaways area. It involved the upgrading of infrastructure and installation of new storm sewers. DEP sign off was obtained for all installations and the Certificate of Occupancy process was streamlined.
