A comprehensive review of Industries & Commerce was performed and consequently, detailed input has been incorporated.b. Preparation of 13th 5 years plan (2024-29) align with policy documents of PD&SI, 5E framework, 4RF strategy and respective sectoral policies. Policy level interventions have been given. c. Review of 5 sectors studies of 10-year Cluster Development Studies (10YPCBD) and indicate interventions. A summary on these studies along with recommendations on the proposed interventions was given to SMEDA. d. An effort has been initiated to prepare a national competitive report/index in line with the publication of World Economic Forum “Global Competitiveness Report. The Project “RANG”, Developing Artisanal Livelihoods In Rural Pakistan, aims at promoting and supporting the empowerment and participation of women in the economic uplift of their communities. In doing so it will provide livelihood opportunities at the local level, focusing on traditional crafts sectors of textile, embroidery, weaving and other associated crafts industries, such as printing, dyeing, tailoring, embroidered leather, etc. The project will demonstrate the effectiveness of a value-chain, crafts-based approach to poverty alleviation and to improve living conditions for the artisans. The Project aims at adapting their traditional skills to contemporary contexts and markets. The project is planned to provide the following designed interventions which comes under the scope of the project.a) Selection of the artisan through a defined criteria in the selected districts of South Punjab and Sindhb) Create Artisan groups, identify and establish the clustersc) Intervene through series of training/capacity building exercises which help the artisan in designs, quality, product development, pricing and marketing mechanism, linkage development and event management.d) Establish 15 artisan led cluster enterprises in the ten selected districts through the assistance of Institution development, those will be operated by the community on self sustainability model and provide them a platform to become individual enterprises with collective effort.

The project is executed by SMEDA (Ministry of Industries and Production Government of Pakistan). Gujranwala; is rich of SMEs and we have around 6500 SMEs in more or less 20 sectors e.g. Ceramics, Sanitary fitting, light engineering, fan, washing machines, turbine and pumps, plastic furniture, home and gas appliances, rice, utensils, kitchen wear, melamine, heavy engineering, textiles, carpets and rugs, so on and so forth. And in our centre we are providing them an international standard facility to display, promote and sell their products for the national and international customers. A lot of other side services are given too. Prime Minister of Pakistan honored us while inaugurated the centre in March 2010. Somehow 25 foreign ambassadors/high commissioners, highest level Government officials, trade delegation have visited these events.
