ProfessorKey duties included to (i) initiate, coordinate and conduct research on contemporary urban issues including municipal finance and urban infrastructure and services; (ii) design and conduct training programs for senior and middle level functionaries of state and municipal governments; (iii) organize seminars and workshops; (iv) assist states in formulating urban development policies and programs; (v) assist state/central finance commissions on the matters concerning to local government management; (vi) guide and supervise the research studies, sponsored/contracted out by the institute, and (v) provide guidance to the students of urban research.
