Presently an advisor to the all india institute of local self government and visiting faculty of school of planning and architect, New Delhi. Was the advisor to 6th SFC Haryana and Member of Fourth Delhi and Chndigarh Finance Commission . Served as a Director of Centre for Urban Governance as well as Professor at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), New Delhi . Also served as a Director in-Charge of NIUA during 2007-08. Have more than 40 years of professional experience in the field of urban finance, planning and management. PhD in Economics and PG Diploma in Housing, Planning and Building from the Institute for Housing Studies (IHS), Rotterdam, Netherlands. Shastri Fellow and has coordinated and conducted a series of research studies, training and capacity development programs focusing on pressing urban issues for the development organizations including ADB, World Bank, USAID, UNDP etc . Authored large number of publications, guided doctorate dissertations and acted as a resource person/ visiting faculty for institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology and Management.
