As a Resident Mentor for Johnson Hall at SUNY Oswego, I assist students on specific wing and building situations along with developing educational programs for first-year students. One of the unique things as a Resident Mentor is the ability to facilitate a course entitled the First Year Residential Experience Program for first-year students, in order for students to become acclimated to the SUNY Oswego campus.

As the intern for the Office of Dean of Students, I promote programs and events that are provided throughout the SUNY Oswego campus for all students, faculty, and staff. While planning for programs, I provide a student perspective and produce materials for all programs and events sponsored by the Office of Dean of Students.

Over the 2018 summer I was granted the opportunity to be the Unit Director, where I oversaw 75-125 children in two week sessions to ensure their mental, physical, and emotional well-being by doing routinely check-ins and using the appropriate approach depending on the situation and the child's level of need. I also guided in child behavior management and provided counselors with assistance when making decisions and solving problems for the betterment of the child, counselor, and cabin peers. Lastly, in order to maintain a sense of community building and help the children and counselors develop team work skills I planned and implemented full day and nighttime programs for entire camp, consisting of about 100-150 people including children and staff.

As a summer camp counselor at the Fiver Children's Foundation, I was able to supervise children ages 8-12 and young adults ages 13-18 in their living units and during activities throughout the day, ensuring that they are adequately prepared for their classes and programs. I also had the privilege of guiding campers through personal growth and daily living skills exemplifying positive role modeling and illustrating leadership skills in areas such as professionalism, punctuality, and sportsmanship. I was later presented with the opportunity to lead and assist classes in areas such as softball, tennis, art, yoga, journalism, and health education for campers.
