With over two decade of experience in leading advocacy, organizing, strategy, electoral, policy, communication campaigns, Murad is a passionate and effective President and CEO at the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and NYIC Action, the largest statewide immigrant rights coalition and political action committee in the country. He oversees the strategic vision, operations, and advocacy of both entities, representing over 200 member organizations and millions of immigrant New Yorkers.Murad Awawdeh is a skilled strategist and organizer who has mobilized hundreds of thousands of people and won critical legislative victories for immigrant communities, such as the Dream Act, the Green Light Law, Protect Our Courts, and the Excluded Workers Fund. He has also strengthened the capacity and leadership of immigrant-led organizations across New York State, building coalitions and partnerships with diverse stakeholders and sectors. As an immigrant himself, he is committed to advancing justice, equity, and dignity for all New Yorkers.
