As the VPoA, I work in close partnership with the NYIC’s executive leadership team to help guide the organization and ensure successful execution of strategic priorities. I lead the NYIC’s Advocacy department to help win our immigration policy agenda on the federal, state and local levels; lead strategy in engaging our members across New York State in advocacy; and leverage all membership, community and political engagement strategies to achieve success.

Managed the NYIC’s overall civic engagement efforts, which included development, implementation, and supervision of Civic Engagement programming to foster the civic engagement of immigrants, coordinated the NYIC’s Electoral campaigns, and built strategic partnerships with legislators and allies.

Leading the NYiC Action political, electoral, and education campaigns. Building local power through individual members in communities across the State. Develop and implement campaigns to mobilize New American and 1st-2nd generation immigrants in an effort to increase voter turnout and elect strong progressives who will fight for all New Yorkers in local, state, and federal offices. Co-led programs for diverse populations to address social and environmental injustice through innovative grassroots organizing and policy campaigns that promoted community priorities including climate resiliency, brownfield remediation, transportation equity, and community-based asset and infrastructure planning.
