Responsible for development of steel, forging, heat treatment and casting commodity at suppliers and handling domestic and south Africa plant for metallurgical support.Heat treat, forging, casting and steel expertise for technical problem solving, good knowledge in drill deep wide, 8D and other problem solving techniques.Supplier process improvement based on root cause analysis for improvement of incoming & line PPM reduction.Supplier process audit as per risk mitigation and to ensure that suppliers have a clear understanding of expectations by audits & other interactions by partnering with them to improve product quality and QMS in their facility.New supplier audit, approval and developing to the company requirements and transfer the responsibilities to plant SQA after safe launch period. Review with plant for monthly PPM and prepare action plan to develop and improve quality risk suppliersMetallurgical process set up at supplier end for all heat-treatment, forging, steel and casting process.Supporting a team of people in lab for damage and metallurgical analysis and subsequent improvement done at supplier end through process improvement, design improvement etc.Monitoring complete documentation relating to raw material (steel) purchase specification and various heat treatment processesSupervising a team of people for steel cleanness inspection and steel traceability in the global supply chain. Interaction with Engineering & design team for improving and modification of drawings as per improvement or manufacturability.Managed procurement for equipment & machinery for erection & commissioning of project for manufacture of heat treat furnaces in house and at suppliers.
