My primary job is administering disciplinary actions of reprimands, suspensions and terminations to employees who violate policies and procedures of the facility. I also counsel employees and supervisors on personnel matters, represent the State at unemployment hearings, grievances etc. and various other duties that assist and support the Personnel Director. I was Acting Personnel Officer II for 4 months in 2007 and for the entire year of 2011. I am the Agency Technical Representative and schedule drug testing for new hires and other employees. I also was an Appointing Authority for many years.

In 1996 I was a Correctional Officer and from 2000 - 2005 I was a Personnel Associate and Maryland Police Training Commission Certified Training Instructor (enhanced) for the Maryland Divsion of Public Safety and Correctional Services. I monitored and controlled inmate behavior. I trained male and female correctional officer and employees who yearly were required be instructed and trained on mandatory policies and procedures from correctional facilities, prisons etc. throughout the State of Maryland. I did new employee orientations, attended mitigation conferences, advised supervisors and staff on personnel matter and various other duties and support and assist the Personnel Director. I also served terminations at employees residence and bi-weekly picked up thousands of payroll checks for State employees who worked at 5 or more prisons and correctional facilities from the State Office Building for distribution Enhanced Instructor Training Certification - Baltimore County Community College, Owings Mills, Maryland. (2003). Correctional Officer with Firearms certification for handgun, rifle and shotgun - Maryland Division of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Graduated from Wood Stock Training Academy-Baltimore, Maryland (1996). Certificate of Appreciation in 2003 & 2004 from Frank C. Sizer, Jr. Commissioner, Division of Correction / The Office of Staff Development and Training - Office of Professional Development. 1996 worked as a Correctional Officer at the Maryland Reception Diagnostic Classification Center (MRDCC / Prison) in Baltimore, MD
